Make the Wilderness and Community Your Long‑Term Home with our Learning Village
The Learning Village is where your Human Potential Training Journey becomes a way of life. Here, you live the Six Principles every day in a wilderness community committed to personal growth, conservation, self‑sufficiency, empowerment and conscious, values‑based decisions. As a long‑term community member, you co‑create enterprises, partnerships and a Forever Plan for the Chilcotin Ark, while mentoring others on their own journey.

Who the Learning Village Is For
The Learning Village is for people who no longer see this journey as a program, but as the way they want to live. You don’t see yourself as a student but as an equal community member. You have already experienced shorter‑term training and responsibility and now want to ground your life in a wilderness‑based, value‑driven community. This level is for those who are ready to build conscious partnerships, long‑term enterprises and shared stewardship for the land, rather than returning to a previous lifestyle once the “program” ends.
This is for you if…
- You want to live in alignment with the Six Principles day in, day out
- You are ready for long‑term commitment to the Chilcotin Ark, not just a season or two
- You want to co‑create conscious partnerships, families or long‑term collaborations
- You are excited by the idea of building and maintaining a multi‑generational community and perpetuity plan
What Daily Life Looks Like
Daily life in the Learning Village weaves together work, learning, reflection and shared responsibility. You might start your day with ranch or conservation tasks, move into project work or guiding, and end with community meals or reflection circles. Over time, this rhythm becomes the container for your personal growth and contributions, rather than something separate from “real life.”
- Contributing to conservation, guiding, ranch operations or education projects
- Leading community meetings and decision‑making processes
- Practicing Is vs Choice in real decisions about work, money, relationships and lifestyle
- Sharing community meals, reflection sessions and group learning opportunities with your community members, students and guests
- Developing or running mission‑aligned enterprises with other community members
Living the Principles and Frameworks Every Day
In the Learning Village, the Six Principles and core frameworks are not simply ideas; they become the agreed‑upon foundation for community life. Is vs Choice, Conscious Partner Plans, Entrepreneur Plans and the Forever Plan are used as practical tools for everyday decisions such as how to invest time and money, how to prioritize conservation and long‑term projects.

Is vs Choice
Outcomes shift from default living to choice based living.

Conscious Partner Plan
Designing and nurturing relationships based on shared values, clear communication and mutual growth.

Entrepreneur Plan
Developing enterprises that serve guests, community and ecosystem, while providing sustainable livelihoods.

Forever Plan
Holding a long‑term vision for the Chilcotin Ark and making daily decisions that support perpetuity for the land, wildlife and community.
How You Become a Community Member
Joining the Learning Village is a gradual process. Most people arrive through earlier levels such as Immersion or Responsible for the Greater Good programs, then step into more permanent roles as they and the community both recognize a mutual fit. Practical considerations like visas, legal frameworks and financial arrangements are handled in ways that support both the individual and the long‑term stability of the community.
Visa Requirements
To join us in our Learning Village from outside Canada you will need Work and Travel Visa or a Co-Op Visa, both through the International Experience Canada Program or a C50 Visa. Take a look at the Government of Canada’s website to see if you are eligible for these visas. Once you are a member of the Learning Village, internal progression for those working toward permanent residency through the proper channels is an option to continue your time with us
What You Learn and How You Grow Here
Learning Focus:
The focus of the Learning Village is long‑term, values‑based living. You are no longer learning the Six Principles as content—you are testing and refining how to express them through every choice you make. You learn how to build a life that balances personal needs, relationships, community responsibilities, conservation and enterprise.
Core Elements:
Core elements include shared work, collaborative decision‑making, long‑horizon projects and ongoing reflection. You rotate through different roles—guiding, conservation, ranch work, administration, education and enterprise building—so you understand the community and ecosystem from multiple perspectives. Formal and informal mentoring flows in all directions: you learn from others, and you also support new participants joining at other levels.
Outcomes:
Over time, your identity shifts from visitor or student to co‑creator. You become part of a multi‑generational effort to protect and steward the Chilcotin Ark while helping people unlock their human potential. You gain a lived understanding of what it means to commit to a place, a mission and a community—and to keep showing up for them, even when it is challenging.
How The Learning Village Completes and Renews the Journey
The Learning Village is both the culmination of the graduated program and the place where the journey continually renews itself. Community members live the Six Principles daily, mentor new participants from Self Study, Online Courses, Field Practice, Immersion and Responsible for the Greater Good, and co‑create new projects and trainings. In this way, your personal journey becomes part of something bigger: a living ecosystem of people, programs and conservation initiatives that keeps evolving in service of the greater good.
